Who Can Use a Sunbed

Your wellbeing comes first. Please read these guidelines carefully before using our sunbeds so you can tan safely and confidently.

You can use our sunbeds if:

  • You are over 18 (ID will be required)

  • You are in good general health.

  • You do not have conditions or treatments that make your skin sensitive to light.

  • You are looking to build your tan gradually (please use our Fitzpatrick scale as a guide to your skin type).

  • You limit your first few sessions to a maximum of 3- 6 minutes if you’re new to tanning.

 Please avoid sunbeds if:

  • Pregnant – UV tanning is not permitted at any stage of pregnancy.

  • Recent skin treatments – Avoid tanning if you’ve had hot waxing, tattooing, bleaching, laser hair removal, or electrolysis in the last 24 hours.
Medical treatment or conditions – If you are photosensitive, undergoing medical treatment, or have over 50 moles/family history of skin cancer, please seek medical advice first.
Already exposed to sun/UV – Do not use a sunbed if you’ve been sunbathing, used another sunbed the same day, or still have redness from a previous session.
Health concerns – Do not use sunbeds if you have experienced ill effects from the sun, or suffer from epilepsy, fainting, migraines, heart conditions, blood pressure issues, prickly heat, cold sores, skin ulcers, or severe sun allergies.
Alcohol or substances – Please do not use sunbeds if under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Important to know:

  • Sunbeds should be treated with the same caution as natural sunlight.

  • Always tan gradually to reduce the risk of skin damage.

  • Remove cosmetics, perfumes, and deodorants before your session.

  • Using sunbeds may accelerate skin ageing and could increase health risks, including certain cancers.
